For Physicians
Referring patients to Canada House
A specialist referral takes minutes. We handle the assessment, follow-up documentation, and ongoing cannabis care — keeping your patients supported without adding to your workload.
Why refer to Canada House?
Think of us as a specialist referral destination — like a pain clinic or diabetes education centre — for patients whose conditions may benefit from medical cannabis. We extend your care; we don't replace it.
Specialist assessment
Our physicians focus exclusively on medical cannabis — evaluating candidacy, contraindications, and personalised dosing for chronic pain, PTSD, anxiety, sleep disorders, and other conditions. Your patients receive the depth of review a busy primary care schedule rarely allows.
Follow-up documentation
After every assessment we send you a structured follow-up letter for the patient file: visit summary, clinical findings, prescription details, and any recommendations for ongoing primary care co-management. Nothing falls through the cracks.
No cost to your practice
Referrals carry no fee for you or your patient. We operate analogously to a Diabetes Education Centre — extending your care, not replacing it — so your patients return to you with a clearer picture of their cannabis treatment.
Three ways to collaborate
Every practice is different. Choose the model that fits your workflow — or start with direct referrals and explore further from there.
Direct Patient Referral
Most commonThe simplest path for your patients. Send a referral directly to Canada House and one of our physicians will conduct a full cannabis candidacy assessment. You receive a follow-up letter summarising the visit, findings, and any prescription issued — ready for your patient file.
In-Office Prescribing Support
No added overheadPrefer to assess and prescribe in your own practice? We assign a Patient Services Coordinator and Cannabis Consultant to your clinic at no cost to you or your patients. They guide your staff and patients on dosing, administration routes, and evidence-based best practices. Staffing is covered through educational agreements with licensed cannabis producers.
Contract Physician Position
Flexible hoursJoin our network as a part-time contract physician assessing chronic-condition patients for medical cannabis candidacy. Consultations take place in-clinic or via secure telemedicine, each supported by an experienced cannabis consultant who provides guidance on THC/CBD ratios, strain selection, consumption methods, and current evidence.
No cost to you
