Accessibility Statement

Canada House Clinics is committed to ensuring this website is accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities.

Our Commitment

We are committed to making this website accessible and we aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. Accessibility is an ongoing effort — we continuously review and improve our website to remove barriers and provide an inclusive experience for all visitors.

We believe that every person seeking information about medical cannabis care deserves equal access to this website, regardless of ability or the assistive technology they use.

Accessibility Features

This website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements — navigation, forms, buttons, and links — are fully operable with a keyboard. A visible "Skip to main content" link appears on focus, allowing keyboard users to bypass repeated navigation.
  • Semantic HTML structure: Pages use landmark regions (header, main, footer, nav), proper heading hierarchy (one h1 per page, logical h2/h3 structure), and ARIA labels where additional context is needed.
  • Alternative text: Informative images have descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with alt="" so screen readers skip them.
  • Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements are designed to meet the WCAG 2.2 AA minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components. Our primary brand colour on white is designed to achieve approximately 6.8:1.
  • Reduced-motion support: Animations and transitions are disabled or significantly reduced when the user's operating system is set to prefer reduced motion (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce).
  • Resizable text: The layout is responsive and designed to remain readable when text is resized up to 200% in the browser without loss of content or functionality.
  • Focus visibility: Interactive elements display a clearly visible focus indicator that aims to meet WCAG 2.2 Focus Appearance criteria.
  • Form accessibility: All form fields have associated <label> elements and descriptive error messages that are announced to assistive technologies.
  • Language declaration: The HTML lang attribute is set to en so screen readers apply the correct language and pronunciation rules.

Known Limitations

While we strive for WCAG 2.2 AA conformance across the entire site, some areas may not yet fully meet all criteria. We are actively working to address any gaps. If you encounter a specific barrier, please let us know using the contact information below.

Ongoing Improvement

Accessibility is not a one-time project — it is an ongoing commitment. We:

  • Review new content and features for accessibility before they are published.
  • Welcome feedback from users who experience accessibility barriers.
  • Periodically audit the site against WCAG 2.2 AA criteria.
